What a year in Burgundy it has been! Looking back here are some of our special moments.
We made a good friend and learned a lot during an internship with Ray Walker at Maison Ilan. We experienced the vineyards covered in snow. David Clark showed us what the future of wine making might be like. We purchased an old home and winery in Burgundy. We graduated from the wine school in Beaune. We watched the vineyards turn green in Spring. Our renovations started and the grape hunt began. The renovations continued and Burgundy was hit by a devastating hail storm. We found our first grapes in Gevrey-Chambertin and then a 1er cru. Not long after a couple 1er cru Chardonnays from Chassagne-Montrachet were added to the mix.
After a long year of preparations our winery, Maison Harbour, was ready for it’s first harvest. Our grapes slowly turned into wine. We put our two hundred year old vertical press to use.
and… We put the wines in our cellar to age.
Here’s to 2014, may it be as challenging and rewarding as 2013, Cheers!
